A unique dining experience
Eating at Knik River Lodge is a little out of the ordinary. Inspired by the African safaris we wanted to create a comfortable, elegant yet distinctly outdoors atmosphere. Keeping our not-so-African climate in mind we use a big yurt, elegantly furnished with candle lanterns and nice silverware. Enjoy light and healthy fare like gourmet soups and deliciously fresh dinner salads for appetizers. Our main courses include Alaska classics like cedar plank grilled salmon and king crab. We are famous for the filet mignon: a beautiful piece of prime certified angus beef grilled to perfection. Our entees are served with roasted rosemary potatoes and fresh seasonal veggies. Choose from a selection of housemade desserts to complement your meal. No meat? No problem! Several creative vegetarian choices are available like a salad with beets & goat cheese & garlic vinaigrette.
Enjoy a selection of fine beers and wines with your meal. Watch the moose in the lower yard during summer evenings or get out the binoculars and watch Dall sheep on the hillside. Get the Alaskan safari feeling?
Our restaurant is available for our overnight guests from May through mid-September. To avoid wait times we suggest you make reservations when you check in. We do have limited availability for our friends and neighbors in the area, just give us a call ahead of time please so we can make sure we have a table available.
