Guided day trip with professional photographer/guide

Imagine ...... a full day hiking and photographing deep in the Alaskan wilderness. Spectacular mountain scenery, glaciers and waterfalls are all around you. Icebergs calve off the glacier and float in a turquoise alpine lake deep below. A black bear emerges from a gully and takes off after a ground squirrel, tearing up half a mountain for this prized snack. Follow game trails down to the lake to take a close up look at the calving glaciers. Are you ready to join us?

Mountains, glaciers & wildlife

Our helicopter will drop you in the high country above Inner Lake George where you’ll have all day to explore and take pictures of this magical landscape and its wildlife. Just you, a friend and a professional outdoor photographer/guide. Lots of wilderness, no crowds, no lines, no viewing platforms. A day out here gives you a deep respect for the rugged nature and animals that thrive in it. The scale is hard to imagine, the steep mountains and the immense glaciers dwarf man and beast alike. The area is rich in wildlife: wolves, coyote, fox, bald eagles, grizzlies, black bears, mountain goats and Dall sheep are all commonly seen. Since you’ll have all day in the field you have an excellent chance of seeing wildlife, but the animals and the country are wild and we cannot guarantee any appearances. Patience is a virtue! Just sit down and look around. Watch for irregular shapes or moving ‘rocks’. If you have good binoculars, bring them along as they may help finding and safely observing wildlife. If it’s safe your guide will help you get as close as possible without disturbing the animals. We’ll do our very best to get you great pictures and even greater memories. At the end of the day the helicopter will pick you up and in no time you are back at the lodge for a hearty meal and transfer back to town. Or spend the night in one of our deluxe wilderness cabins and embark on another adventure tomorrow!
