Alaska Helicopter Tour with Glacier Landing

Take off and hover low over the frozen landscape as you make your way to the mighty Knik glacier. Fly over the lake filled with icebergs and land right on the glacier itself. Get out and feel the sensation of standing on ice thousands of years old. The tour takes off again and flys over Lake George where deep blue Alaskan glacial icebergs calf off the face of Colony Glacier. Then fly through the Great Gorge before you land at Knik Glacier Camp.

Leisure time at Knik Glacier Camp

Hot drinks are served at Knik Glacier Camp. Here you have some leisure time to walk around on a terminal moraine and watch the vegetation trying to get a foothold on the newly exposed land. Hear the ice crack and moan and see the ‘bergs’ roll over in the lake. You might even see icebergs calve into the lake from the face of the glacier. Wildlife abounds with bald eagles nesting in the valley, moose browsing for fresh leaves and bears and Dall sheep high on the mountain sides. After about 2 hours the helicopter will pick you up for the ride back to the lodge. The tour itinerary may also be operated in reverse, where you fly to Knik Glacier Camp first and do the flight seeing and glacier landing tours afterward.

Complete packages from Anchorage available

For adventurers that do not spend the night in one of our cabins we have complete packages including hotel transfers from Anchorage, Alaska and a meal in our award winning restaurant. When you return from your glacier adventure our chef will have a delicious lunch (for the morning tours) or dinner (for the afternoon tours) prepared for you. All our food is made from scratch using mostly organic, local ingredients. After your meal our shuttle takes you back to Anchorage where you’ll be dropped off at your hotel.

$259 per person. Included: 30 minute helicopter flight with glacier landing, approx. 2 hours leisure time at Knik glacier camp, hot drinks.

Prices departing from Anchorage

Morning departures: $319 per person. Included: roundtrip shuttle from selected downtown Anchorage hotels, 30 minute helicopter flight with glacier landing, approx. 2 hours leisure time at Knik glacier camp, hot drinks, lunch at Knik River Lodge.

Afternoon departures: $345 per person. Included: roundtrip shuttle from selected downtown Anchorage hotels, 30 minute helicopter flight with glacier landing, approx. 2 hours leisure time at Knik glacier camp, hot drinks, 3-course dinner at Knik River Lodge.
